Finish Super-Bier picture from last class
Download and Open Superman_Bier_Day2
Show students how to use the clone stamp tool using the ALT key and mouse to make the target and then clone. Whatever is in the cross hair will be painted where the cursor is.
Change the width of the image to 500 pixels (the height will automatically change to 485 to keep it proportional) Image > Image Size

Using the Internet, look for short tutorials that demonstrate how to use Adobe Photoshop (We are using CS3 by the way).  There are plenty to choose from.  You will replicate what is done on the tutorial.  You will need to download your own picture(s).  You can get them from the Internet or you can take them with a camera (I will provide you with one during class time).

You will write down detailed instructions on how to complete the lesson from start to finish.
  1. Download superman and bier_smile pictures and open them up in Photoshop
  2. Using the Magic Wand tool, select Mr. Biers head and neck only.
  3. With the move tool, transfer the head over the body of Superman
  4. Using free transform (CTRL + T), make the head the correct size by pulling on the corner with your mouse and holding down the SHIFT key (to keep image proportional).
  5. Use the Clone Stamp tool to get rid of the hair and replace it with the stars and stripes.
  6. Select the layer that the head is on (name it "head"), and click on Layer Mask on the bottom of the palette.
  7. Select the brush tool and change the opacity to 20% and brush the line between the neck and body.  Change it to 50% and repeat, and finally 100%.  This should smooth of the distinctive line between the body and the head.
  8. Save it as a SuperBier.psd file and a SuperBier.jpg file as well.
