INTRODUCTION
As
you look towards your future, you begin to see the reality of life
ahead of you.Your
future holds the promise of great times. You begin to plot out your
course of action for living your life but need to understand what
it will cost to live in the lifestyle you want.
What
kind of jobs are out there with the skills and talents that you have?
Where are they located and what do they pay? How much does it cost
to live in a particular area of the country where you would like to
relocate? What everyday costs will you incur to live your life and
how will you be able to save for your future?
These
are merely some of the questions that you will answer for yourself
as you begin to see what it costs to live the life that you want for
yourself.
Let's
get started
Here's
the situation:
You have just graduated from high school or college with a two-year or
four-year degree (whichever you prefer). Using the Oregon CIS website
find a career that interests you and determine how much money you will
make per month (Use the low end of the scale). Next, find how much it will cost you to buy or rent a
place in the city in which you want to live. Finally, you will make a
personal budget for yourself that includes all expenses that someone on
their own incurs in their life. Your budget will be as realistic as
possible using real figures that are researched.
